Marine Engineering
Wing-in-ground vessel / hovercraft
Through our associate companies, we have developed and introduced ground breaking and highly advanced hovercraft technologies into our craft thereby producing more resilient lean & green vessels that are highly seaworthy rated to force 6. Additionally since the 1920's with the knowledge of surface effect or Wing in Ground effect (when a wing/plane operates in close proximity to the ground/water surface, creating an increase in lift and a decrease in drag) the pursuit of WIG Craft has continued and developed, a trend that we have encouraged and invested in.
The fact that W.I.G operational mode results in higher speeds, greater loads and high fuel efficiencies has encouraged our research since the 1970s. We are introducing to the world our W.I.G marine vessels that have now been recognised by the IMO (International Marine Organisation) leading to survey and Class compliant vessels to be utilised not just in the Offshore industry as crew boats but also as survey vessels ,troop carriers and cargo transport. We are now taking orders for our 30 passenger and a 90 passenger WIG Hoverflight and Velocity hovercrafts.
Potential applications include:
- Coastal passengers transport
- Coastal police patrol
- Military commando applications
- Up river against current passenger transportation
- Remote rural access
